Meanwhile, an endowed chair role enables professor Amy Spurlock to pursue her research and expand
the impact of the School of Nursing, both on campus and in the community.
“I’m really honored not only to have the time and the resources to be able
to further my own research but also to expand the footprint in the School of
Nursing for our faculty and our students. I’m deeply indebted to the DeMeyer
family for funding this so many years ago, and I’m very proud to be the fourth
DeMeyer Endowed Chair.”

SCHOLARSHIP BRIDGE PROGRAM
IN 2024, DONORS MADE OVER
$1M IN ENDOWMENT COMMITMENTS
As part of the Unbridled campaign, the Boise State University
Foundation has committed $2.5M to provide a bridge match for
qualifying new and enhanced scholarship gifts.
LEVERAGING
THE SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT
BRIDGE PROGRAM
FOR THE 25-26 ACADEMIC YEAR,
THE SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT
Donors who pledge to establish or enhance an endowed scholarship
may schedule their payments over five years to reach the $25,000
minimum. Traditionally, the entire gift must be completed before
scholarship funds can be awarded to a student. However, student
needs can be immediate, and not all donors can fully fund the
minimum at once. This causes a delay for both recipients and donors,
who must wait to see the direct impact of their philanthropy.
When a donor creates or enhances a qualifying scholarship
endowment with an outright gift commitment, the Boise State
Foundation will provide the payout while the donor completes their
payment. Students can then begin receiving scholarships right away.
BRIDGE PROGRAM WILL BE ABLE TO
OFFER OVER $107,000 FOR
STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
“Right before the school year started, I was really considering
pushing off the last two years of school and then I got
this scholarship and it was just like a push in the right
direction. Like: Okay, I’m not dropping out, I’m staying, the
scholarship’s going to heavily alleviate all of the stress that
I was having. It’s allowed me to pursue the degree that
I’ve always wanted. It’s just made a tremendous impact.”
