DEAR FRIENDS OF BOISE STATE,
It is the great privilege of my professional life to lead the Boise State University Foundation as we strive
to build the best culture of philanthropy and alumni engagement of any public university. Even the word
“philanthropy” itself provides meaning and motivation: Its etymology comes from the Greek “philein” and
“anthrōpos,” which translates to “love of humanity.”
I am humbled to be a steward of your generosity at the Foundation. When we publicly launched
Unbridled: The Campaign for Boise State University in fall 2023, we set a goal of raising $500M. We did
so because we knew there was a significant need for additional resources for student access and success,
faculty innovation and What’s Next for Athletics.
We also did so because we knew the philanthropic spirit of the Boise State community would answer
our call.
